O.B. Doss, 64, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Jan. 3, 2009, at his home on Caddo Lake. He was born to Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Doss in Cass County, on Sept. 16, 1944. He was a graduate of Marshall High School and served in the Army National Guard. He retired after 34 years from Center Point Energy and continued to be self-employed in the oil and gas industry for several years. He loved to fish, hunt and play golf, but most of all he loved being with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Doss; children, Stacy Potter and husband Rob of Marshall, Shannon Sullivan of Midland, Sean Sullivan of Shreveport La., and Shawna Ellis and husband Tony of Mansfield. His five grandchildren, Sam and Reid Potter of Marshall, Jake and Drew Ellis of Mansfield, Texas, and Kiera Sullivan of Shreveport, La., were the joy of his life. He is also survived by his mother, Myrtis Doss; brother, John Ed Doss; sister-in-law, Karla Doss; niece, Michele Simmons; nephew, Ricky Doss and their families. He was preceded in death by his father Cecil Doss. Pallbearers will be Wendell Arnold, Bengie Crowsey, Jay Lawrence, Karl McEvers, Jimmy Pyle, and Freddy Steele. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Downs Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Andrews Cemetery. The Rev. Joe Chisolm will officiate.
