NEW LONDON -- Lonnie F. Farmer, 58, 239 E. Depot St., died Sunday (June 15, 2003) at his home.

Born Oct. 24, 1944, in Scranton County, Ark., Mr. Farmer was a son of the late William Presley and Emily Florence Sory Farmer. A veteran, he was stationed with the U.S. Army in Babenhausen,Germany.

In 1999, he retired after 30 years from Alcoa, Badin, where he was a furnace operator. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Steelworkers Society of Active Retirees.

Survivors include wife Glinda Ruth Davis Farmer; daughter Lisa Farmer Goodman, Rock Hill, S.C.; brothers James Farmer, Romeo, Colo., and Harold Farmer, Scranton, Ark.; and one grandchild.

Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Colonial Gardens Chapel, Marshall,Texas, conducted by the Rev. Bill Buchanan. Entombment with military rites at Colonial Gardens Mausoleum, Marshall,Texas. At other times, the family will be at the home of his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jean and Mannie Davis, 1007 Suburban Acres Road, Marshall,Texas.
