Sandra Lawrence Tamplin

Ms. Sandra Lawrence Tamplin, 72, passed away at home on Sunday, October 21, 2018, after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held from 10 am until 12 pm with funeral services following at 12 pm on Wednesday, October 24, in the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home. Officiating will be Jessica Lowe, Assistant Pastor, of Grace Community United Methodist Church.

Sandy, a native of Marshall, TX, was born to Wilma Knight Lawrence and Rex Alvin Lawrence on October 19, 1946. She was a resident of Shreveport for 49 years and a member of Grace Community United Methodist Church. After being a stay-at -home mom and working in the oil and gas industry for over 20 years in the Shreveport Bossier area, she started pursuing her life-long passion of ballroom dancing. She created and developed a ballroom dancing community in the Shreveport-Bossier area that touched the lives of many. As the owner of Sandy's Dance Center, she would have “Wished you the Gift of Dance!”

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her two sons whom she referred to as her “greatest accomplishments”, Bobby Rex Tamplin and wife, Elizabeth and Leslie Todd Tamplin and wife, Jill; and five grandchildren, William Lawrence Tamplin, Sarah Elisabeth Tamplin, Victoria Lynn Tamplin, Emma Caroline Tamplin, and Murphy Lawrence Tamplin.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Anil Nanda, Dr. Anil Veluvolu, Dr. Chiachien Wang, and Amedysis Hospice.

Sandra and I grew up together participating in band and school activities.  So many fond memories (funny stories) of our band times in Junior/High School bring a smile to my face! Thanks for the great memories and long time friendship, Sandy....RIP.
