David "Pepaw" Dorgan

August 14, 1945 ~ September 21, 2021 (age 76)

Beloved husband, cherished father; treasured grandfather and great-grandfather, Olan David “Pepaw” Dorgan, age 76, passed away in Longview, Texas on September 21, 2021.  David was born on August 14, 1945 in Marshall, Texas to Olan Ray Dorgan and Nadine Laverne Copeland Dorgan.

David is preceded in death by his grandson, Colten Langley; his parents, and his sister, Frankie Pollick.  He is survived by his wife, Jean Dorgan; children, Sheila Schuiteman, Shelli Tatum (Kevin) and Leslie Langley (Julie); grandchildren, Ashlyn Hilton, Preston Haile, Caleb Langley, Malorie Perez (German), Emily Nealy (Dakota) and Emma Wolf; great-grandchildren, Guy Perez, Emory Perez, Gio Perez, Lawson Tate Nealy, Kinley Rae Nealy (on the way!),  Mackenzie Oney and Jake Oney, as well as numerous other family members and friends who loved him dearly.

David proudly served his country in the National Guard. He was a bus driver for Hallsville schools for over 13 years and adored his “bus” family.  He was a favorite with all the students that he drove over the years.  David loved his animals, especially his tortoise “Oliver”.  He enjoyed fishing, watching westerns and attending car shows with Caleb and Leslie.  David loved his family beyond measure and especially cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.  He was well loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
