Patricia (Pat) Morton Oney

A funeral service for Patricia Ann (Pat) Oney, 76, of Bossier City, Louisiana, formerly of Marshall, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2022, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas with Philip Snead officiating. Interment will follow at Blocker Cemetery. A time for visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2022, at the funeral home.

Patricia was born on December 14, 1945, in Marshall, Texas to Bill Morton and Betty Jane Newton and passed away on April 14, 2022, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

She married Alvin James Oney, Sr. on August 14, 1964, in Marshall, Texas and the remained married until her death. She was a Southern Baptist and worked at the La Baptist Children’s Home in Monroe, La for 12 years. She enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Betty Morton and special friend, Diann Simmons.

She is survived by her husband, Alvin James Oney, Sr.; children, Vicky Snead and husband, Philip, James Oney and wife, Michelle and Mark Oney and wife, Lisa; brothers, Billy Wayne Morton and Charles Morton and wife, Lou Ann; Sister-in-law, Shirley George and husband, Carl; grandchildren, Lee Ann Molloy and husband, Pete, Jessica Roberts and husband, Jonathon, Brooklynn Oney, Jamison Oney, Nathan Oney and Katelynn Oney; great grandchildren, Wyatt Molloy, Jayden Molloy and Alec Molloy; special friend, Romo Oney and numerous other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association and/or the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home in Monroe, LA
